What a Will Does Not Do

1. Having a Will does not avoid Probate.
2. Having a Will does not avoid taxes.
3. Having a Will does not provide for managing your assets if you become disabled and unable to care for yourself.
4. Having a Will does not transfer non-probate property, unless you use applicable beneficiary designations to coordinate with the provisions of your Will. (See Property Ownership)
